John Berger (dos)
SUEÑO
En un puñado de tierra
he enterrado todos los acentos
de mi lengua materna
allí yacen
como agujas de pino
reunidas por las hormigas
puede que algún día el llanto balbuciente
de otros vagabundo
las incendie
entonces caliente y consolado
oirá toda la noche
la verdad como una nana.
(Trad. Pilar Vázquez)

DREAM
In a pocket of earth
I buried alla the accents
of my mother tongue
there they lie
like needles of pine
assembled by ants
one day the stumbling cry
of another wanderer
may set them alight
then warm and comforted
he will hear all night
the truth as lullaby.
